There’s no doubt you haven’t heard of the popular children’s television show Bluey. Beloved by both children and adults, the show has garnered a large audience who adore the Heeler family and their antics. It was only a matter of time, then, for the blue dog to make her way to the realm of interactive software, and what a good first outing!

Bluey: The Videogame presents an all new story centered around a treasure map the Heelers assemble on holiday. The Aussie family’s holiday adventure is presented very well, resembling the show very well, though not animated quite as well as the show is. Despite that, the story is very standard for the series, and the game feels like an interactive episode of the show in the best way possible.

The main adventure isn’t terribly long, but it has that classic Bluey charm that the show is known for, with wholesome and heartwarming moments, good comedy, and genuine fun. Game play, then, is simple and easy to grasp. No complicated camera controls, simply move the characters around and interact with buttons, often when prompted. Bluey: The Videogame is perfect for the target audience, and it supports up to four players, so the whole family can play along and have fun!

Besides the main story, there are dozens of collectibles to be found throughout the various environments you can travel to, each unlocking more things, from playable characters to costumes. There’s incentive to find everything, and while not the hardest challenge, it’s perfect for the younger audience.

Bluey: The Videogame looks, sounds, and feels like the TV show, and provides family friendly entertainment that anyone can enjoy. It’s not particularly challenging, as it shouldn’t be. It’s a great game for the whole family to enjoy, especially if the family loves Bluey. Kids will love it, and parents can know that not only does the game provide safe and accessible fun, but quality fun at that.
